Upcoming Meeting and ProgramsMARCH MEETING WILL BE A SPECIAL ACTIVITY Instead of our normal March meeting, the Gavia Scuba Club will be going to the Cincinnati Museum Center to view the IMAX movie, “Under The Sea” on Saturday, March 27th. The movie is an underwater adventure below the surface and beyond the imagination. Jim Carrey narrates the exploration of life under the sea through the eyes of divers. Travel to remote locations in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia in the Indian Ocean and the Great Barrier Reef in the Pacific Ocean. See the vibrant, breathtaking colors of the coral reefs and experience deep, far-off places where you’ll find the most mysterious and exceptional creatures of the sea. Please feel free to invite family and friends to participate. This movie will be a great chance for non-divers to get a glimpse of the world we divers so enjoy visiting! You can come just to the movie or join us earlier for dinner – whatever works best for your schedule. Here are the details: Date: Saturday, March 27th Pre-Movie Dinner – 5:15 PM Washington Platform Saloon & Restaurant 1000 Elm Street (corner of Court & Elm Streets) Free on-street parking or in Turner Construction parking lot across street from restaurant The menu has nice variety of items with prices ranging from $6.95 for a burger to around $20 for fish, seafood and steaks. Their annual Oyster Festival will be happening that weekend so there will be a second menu of special oyster dishes from which to choose.
